p.1 #1Replacement Lens Foot Recommendations for the RF 100-300, please!
Hi !
I am looking to replace the Canon foot on my RF 100-300mm lens with am arca swiss compatible foot. Usually I would just go with RRS, but it does not look like they have any built in padding on the foot like the Canon version.
I carried the lens by the foot 9 miles last weekend, and 12 miles the weekend before, so finding something that is a relatively comfortable way to carry the lens would be ideal.
Does anyone have any personal experience and suggestions with replacement feet for this lens? Is there anything available that is decently padded/comfortable?

Normally the feet are dark anodized aluminum. I don't recall if light colors are possible. I'm more familiar with light colored paints or powder coats. We need a coating expert to respond. Regardless of the method, light colors look worse when scraped, like the A-S dovetail.

If you really want a padded version you could take a foot like mine and cut some adhesive foam and stick it on top. I placed a piece of adhesive foam next to mine for a visual. The stock foot is not padded, it's just coated. So if you were to stick this foam on top of my foot it would be very padded compared to the stock foot. There is also thicker foam for even more padding but this thickness would do the job. And yes, the feet could be made in different colors or straight brushed aluminum, but I've only seen black. Rattle canning a black foot white would not look good after you mounted it a few times.

Not sure, I have several extra feet from other big whites and I just grabbed one and slapped it on so I'll take a look tomorrow to see which manufacturer it is.

Here's the foam I use, you can buy it in all different thicknesses. Maybe I'll slap on a piece of 1/4" or even 1/2" just for kicks if I have time this weekend.

Hi!
I have been trying to locate this foot but it is currently out of stock. I contacted RRS and they did not think it was compatible with the RF 100-300. Your photo suggests it is. Did you have any issues mounting the LCF-53 foot to the 100-300?
If I am able to find one second hand I probably can't return it, so I would love to double check full compatibility if possible.
Thanks!

Yes, it works fine. The bolt patterns on these are all the same and I've used many different supposed "incompatible" feet on a lot of different big whites without any issues. Unless you care about this little 3/32" offset which is hardly noticeable, it works fine. I also use a lowrider foot for this and my other lenses, but the LCF-53 will work great for your application. I might have an extra one but I won't have time to look for it for awhile.

This is extremely helpful, thank you!
RRS told me that they will be releasing a couple on the site by the end of this week, so I was planning on picking one up from them. But if you have and extra you are looking to sell, let me know!
Edit: located a used one at a shop that should be able to get it to me before my next trip!
