Are you still able to use the push-on cap? Looks great
My 35/1.4 Lux pre-asph doesn't have the push-on cap, so I couldn't try that option. But since it has 43mm threads, I was able to add a standard lens cap and also mount a generic metal hood (43mm thread).
Here are a few shots from yesterday using this lens. (all wide open)

Update: I finally received the replacement steel ring and it works perfectly! It attaches cleanly to my Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux‑M (the pre-ASPH version with the brass tab) and it's compatible with all the pre-asph copies made after the original steel-rim model. In essence, it mimics the original steel rim black barrel look (similar to Leica's re-released version). I’m able to attach 43 mm filters with zero vignetting. I'll post some pictures later on.
Sweet!!!
Thanks for remembering to update me. Really good info. Looks like a normal threading situation.

OT: Did you actually get any trick or treaters yesterday? Here (just outside Toronto) it was almost literally a ghost town with the Dodgers and Jays playing.

Sorry for the late reply on this one. Looking back, I didn’t either. So yeah, same here...far fewer kids out getting candy this year. We figured the neighborhood's just gotten older and most of the kids have outgrown trick-or-treating.
