This was one of my wife's potted plants from this spring. When I was away on vacation I was checking my security cam in the backyard one day and I noticed a hummingbird spending a lot of time on this plant. So when we got back yesterday I kept an eye out and sure enough they love it. Very unusual in my yard. Usually I can only attract them with feeders. Only problem now is my "gardener" is threatening to cut it back and chop off the flowers. She claims it will help it grow more flowers. I'm skeptical, of course I need to try again tomorrow morning hopefully for some better light.

Great set Gary. I'll probably be joining the crowd posing hummers soon.

Thank you Morris. They were late arriving here.

Absolutely amazing shots Gary. Keep those flowers from being cut. All great but love #3.
I'll most likely lose that battle Thanks Louie

I really love Lantana, this year I failed to plant it though. #3 is my pick, lovely shots Gary
Gary - lovely set! Really love #2...that creamy green background...but they are all great!
Question - were using the Auto Capture feature on the Z9? I've been toying around with it with our few hummingbird visitors...but alas, they are hooked on the feeders and yet to take to our natural flowers and plants...but then again, we obviously are no offering anything natural they are interested in.

Thanks JC. No, I haven't messed with that feature yet. I shot these from a blind in the yard. It's the only way I can get close enough.
Our summers here are so short and I get so few hummingbirds I'm honestly afraid to take the feeder down because I don't want to lose them. I think next summer I'm going to plant a bunch of that Lantana and some Bee Balm and try without the feeder. You're right, they get spoiled by the easy sugar
