Have I been mis-spelling Kosina all this time?
I think this is just bad Google translation.
Here is a translation from a more another app:

Kanon and Kosina would be the standard transcription of Japanese writing into roman characters indeed. But the "C" is much more standard than "K" and pronounces the same and is more common so no surprise we write Canon and Cosina.
Thank you.
I fact checked myself (after my post) and Canon was previously Kwanon.

I'd love it if a native Japanese speaker gave us the correct pronunciations of some of these names, the same way the Analog Insights team did with German (most English speakers say "Voytlander" but it's not pronounced that way in German!):

Stephen at Cameraquest just informed me that the new CV 28/2.8 Color-Skopar will probably arrive towards the end of next week.
Hope this will also be the case for Europe and hope they have enough Type II black which I have the feeling will be by far the most popular one.

I hope this lens does well for Cosina, it’s a good price here in uk. Top spec lenses - apo or f1 - are wonderful but there is a place for high quality slower lenses. I would love a set of modern color-skopars - all we need is a 50. But it seems impossible to predict what lenses are going to come out from Cosina. I don’t think anyone saw a slower 28mm coming (probably due to the excellent 28/2)? I certainly didn’t know I wanted one…

With this 28, and the 40, who knew that now is a good time to get a Barnack? ; - )

Do Barnacks have 28 and 40mm frame lines?
Framelines? Who needs framelines when you can add a 12, 15, 18, 21, 25, 28, 35, 40, 50, 75, 90, 135 viewfinder! Plus you can add a visoflex for the 65mm and 400mm Telyt...

For amusement's sake, here is the CV 28/2.8 Color-Skopar, showing its noticeable decrease in size compared to the current CV 28/2 Ultron. The new lens shows a more uniform length, whereas the Ultron has a conical shape. It's worth mentioning that the Ultron's rear element also protrudes further than the Color-Skopar. This comparison was done with both lenses starting at the mount.

If the Ultron 28 had the same design language as the new 28 Color Skopar i.e. attractive and not weird, I would sell my Summicron V2 and keep my Ultron.
I just don't get why Cosina makes some lenses look good, and then decides to make some uggers. Why can't they stick to one design language?

Cosina does have too many different styles for their lenses!
In the case of the CV 28/2 Ultron II, this lens belongs to the "Vintage line" aesthetic, evoking the style of the 70s. (Their words)
The CV 21/3.5, 28/2, and 35/2 lenses share a remarkable design consistency.
In terms of image quality and rendering, I notice that the Leica 28/2 Cron resembles the CV 28/2 Ultron lens, although it is notably larger. While I do appreciate the Leica's haptics more, I don't have any problems with the Voigtlander lens.
With the introduction of the CV 28/2.8 Color-Skopar, they produced something simple and new for their lens lineup. If they are monitoring the forums, the majority of users are expressing positive feedback, and this might encourage them to produce more lenses with a similar style.

I wish they would also stick to the same ergonomics as far as aperture, and focus rings, and focus tabs. I would like all my lenses to work the same. preferably like the ergonomics on my Leica 35mm Lux.
Also lose the white filter rings and make all black lenses.

You should contact them about this. If they never hear from their customers (or potential customers), they'll never know that anyone's unsatisfied with what they're doing now, and they'll just keep doing it. They may ignore feedback anyway, but it's worth a try.

The conical(ality?) helps to minimize vf intrusion. The big butt helps with performance. Maybe?
