p.1 #1 · sharp wide angle lens for Fuji?

I been shooting with the 10-24mm and I haven't been happy with the results on the H2. What is the sharpest wide angle between 10mm to 15mm for Fuji. I mean sharp corner to corner at F8.

My go to wide when I was using the fujis for landscapes was the 14mm 2.8. I found it to be fantastic, and now you can find it at a low price because it's "old". Panther Creek by Paul Martin, on Flickr

I agree on the 14mm. It's one of Fujis best. It's optically a great lens. Sharp across the frame. Great distortion correction in lens. If you want a faster aperture the 16mm 1.4 is also a great lens. Some say it's more like a 15mm.

I've had the 10-24 and it's not that good but it is versatile

XF 14mm f2.8, XF 8-16mm f2.8, or Zeiss Touit 12mm f2.8.

I'll vote for the Rokinon 12/2. Sharp, small, cheap.--Eric.

I'm very happy with my Touit 12/2.8. As sharp as the others mentioned, but with the signature Zeiss colour and punch of local/micro contrast. Not a "budget" option, for sure.

On the used market, the Touit is a fair bit cheaper than a Fuji 10-24 these days.

If you are looking for a prime and are fine with the maximum f/2.8 aperture... I can join the crowd extolling the 14mm f/2.8. It is a really fine lens, one of Fujifilm's best.

By the way, another way to ask this question is to start by ignoring the "sharpest lens" business and instead asking, "Assuming that any of them are plenty sharp enough, which of the available Fujifilm wide angle lenses would best meet my needs?" The chances are that any differences in sharpness are far, far less important than getting the lens that best functionally meeds your needs.

If ultimate corner sharpness takes priority over everything else, another option to consider is adapting a high quality full frame UWA lens to your Fuji body - benefit from the "sweet spot" advantage.

I love my 14mm, it's great at any aperture never mind f/8, and compact and light, and it does it all with virtually non existant distortion. As fine an 'ultra' wide angle as any I've used in 60 years of it. Wider than that I like my 9mm Laowa too, as long as its stopped down a bit from 2.8 where it has less resolution in the corners and some light fall off.
In fact I don't think any of them are anything less than at least as good as the 'opposition'even at wider apertures never mind down at 8, with the possible exception of 18mm f/2, where the compact design needs stopping down to get good sharpness across the frame

The 10-24 is not exactly a budget option either. I think it's the priciest wide angle zoom for an APS-C sensor, other than the 8-16 f2.8.

I recently preordered the Tamron 11-20mm f2.8. I cant wait to test it out. I have owned the 8-16mm, the 10-24mm WR, and a Samyang MF and AF 12mm before.
The 8-16mm was a very special lens. It had beautiful character with very little vignette. I cant say the same for the Samyang, both the AF and MF. Good character but not sharp, had more vignette.

The 10-24mm was very sharp, in the center. The corners fell off and to me it had little to no character. Some vignette too

I have a Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 arriving that I've heard really great things about. May be worth a look as it's fast, sharp, and seems to have excellent sunstars which I always love for landscapes. Relatively cheap, too.

True, but...

... if "ultimate corner sharpness," as differentiated from excellent corner sharpness, is one's main priority... I think that priority seems a bit misplaced.

Again, the question isn't "does my lens have the highest measurable corner sharpness, possibly at the expense of other things," but "does my lens produce excellent image quality on this camera."

I love the 10-24 but I started out disappointed. Turned out my first copy of the "Mark I" had an issue - possibly de-centered, entire right side of the frame would be blurry in some shots. But even with that lens, shooting at 10-14mm appealed to me. So I returned that lens and purchased a new, "Mark II". At first I didn't love it but I have grown to over time. To me, the character is in its "ultra-wideness". Some of my favorite shots are with this lens. Once I stopped looking at pixels and started appreciating its ability to grab a complete image of a beautiful scene, my feeling toward the lens changed. I have experimented with using a narrower prime with better detail and stitching together a pano, it works but its clunky and doesn't always work out. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of processing time to build a photo. I want to capture the image and do minimal work to the file. At this point, this lens spends more time on my X-T5 than any other.

Very difficult to get an ultra wide lens that doesn’t have some softening/distortion. I’ve had the 10-24, I had the Viltrox 13mm, and I have the 8-16mm. All have some distortion/softening at the wider ends.

I have the 13mm as when I shot the Nikon D810 the 20mm 1.8G was my fav lens. My R6 doesn’t have the option for a 20mm that can use screw on filters.

The 13mm on the H2 has been my most used landscape lens. I have been elated with the results. I have the 33 and 75 Viltrox as well. I am awaiting the 27mm 1.2 PRO as I have been extremely impressed with the 75mm Pro. Viltrox has done such a great job on these primes!!

I know frowned upon to say click my link but my IG link, the last 5 landscape posts are with the H2/13mm if you wanna check.
