Has anyone experimented with using the Fujifilm EC-XT S eyecup on the Fuji XT-5? Although the original eyecup is comfortable, it seems a tad too bulky.

I'm curious if the EC-XT S eyecup would be a suitable alternative.

Coming from the XPro2, I also felt that the XT5 stock eye cup seemed unnecessarily gigantic. I got the EC-XT S and it works fine.

Have the S eyecup on my X-T4. Snaps in perfectly.

I am a Nikon round eyepiece enjoyer. Fuji's L eyecup is just way too big.

It works, and is smaller but I personally find it uncomfortable. I always like to press the eye cup to my eyebrow for stability and shading, but the smaller one doesn't let me do that.

Personal preference of course.

Yea, it's personal preference since I don't put my eye right up to the eyecup, so something like the Fuji L eyecup exists just to catch on my clothes or the inside of my bag.

A flat, round eyepiece also lets me work faster since I can bring the camera up to my eye quickly without much lining up. It's symmetrical too, so it won't get in the way when shooting vertically or at whatever tilted angle.

Nikon's professional film cameras had round eyepieces for different diopter options. Later consumer models had rectangular eyecups while the pro bodies kept the flat, round eyepieces. Same to this day even with Nikon DSLRs and mirrorless.

Consumer D600 = rectangular eyecup
Professional D800 and D5 = round eyepiece
Consumer Z7 = rectangular eyecup
Professional Z8 and Z9 = round eyepiece

Fred or Dan, where did you source the small version?
