Here are a couple images taken yesterday, while feeding the mosquitos. Images taken with the Z9 and the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, taken at 400mm, f/11, 1/1250 sec, ISO 2500.

I really like that first one, Bruce!
Thank you I really wished the bear picked his head up in that light. While he did eventually look at me, the golden light had moved on. Nature is predictably unpredictable

If I want to hang a picture on the wall I'd pick wildlife landscape. Still I always go for close-ups when I shoot . Love the first one
Thanks for the comment and note.
It is always so tempting to go tight. I had my Z9 + 400mm f2.8TC on the floor of the Zodiac and my Z8 w/ Z 70-200 f2.8S in the hand. My first instinct is to always go tight, but I promised myself that I would shoot the wildlife landscapes when the situation presented itself... so that's what I did. Once the light passed, I went for the tight shot.
I am maturing as a photographer and leaning into my 4 decades of experience to try to see more, see differently, and break my own patterns.
Loons legs are located at the very end of the body, for remarkably quick turning, to catch fish. One downside to this is that they cannot walk. And when landing they cannot thrust their feet forward for braking, like ducks, geese and swans.
