Sorry to hear.
I'ver eight CV lenses, the oldest being the 25/4 & 35/2.5 LTM, and none of them has any haze, separation, dots or any optical problem. I bought one f-mount lens from ebay, from a french seller with perfect reputation but was still a bit nervous about it. It arrived as described.

Man I hope I am more lucky with my ebay case where someone sent me a VM 25mm 4.0 in "very good condition"
that is actually full of white dots inside the optical system, decentered to the moon and scratched on the outside,
yet the seller denies a refund with a bunch of bullshit arguments like "you wouldn't see the decentering on film, your fault to use this lens on a digital camera".
Out of curiosity, what was the positive feedback percentage of the seller?

100%, 21 feedbacks. But that will change after I got my money back.
As of now, my Brightin Star 28mm f/2.8 lens hasn't shipped yet, even though I placed the order back on July 17th. I reached out to customer service, and they explained that there's a slight delay in shipping because they're currently working on a new and "improved" batch of the lens. While it's a bit disappointing to wait, I'm looking forward to receiving the upgraded version once it's ready for shipment.
Were you able to resolve the issue with Aliexpress?

Not yet. Last I know AliExpress provided Paypal their side of the story in my dispute, and Paypal is weighing up my side vs their side. I provided screen grabs of all the communications between me and AliExpress...
Which is insane seeing AliExpress' tracking # shows it has not been delivered. I think they did ship it, but it got lost. But instead of doing the right thing, they are going with doing the 'insert expletive' you thing.
Anyway - you know what would be the single best thing BrightinStar could do to that lens? Get rid of about 80% of the writing that is on it!

Yes, at least 50%!
Meanwhile I got my hands on the MS Aporia 24/2 and it appears to have significantly lower field curvature, or perhaps the FC's shape is less extreme.

Paypal and AliExpress are STILL arguing over if I should get refunded. I did not receive the lens. It really should be as simple as that.
Man does AliExpress suck.

I just got my lens today, and I'm really impressed with how it's built and how it looks. It's made of brass and has this glossy black paint that looks great. My initial impression is that it's sharp enough in the center, but there's some noticeable field curvature which really compromises the corners.

I think the BS 28 will be a really good street photog lens, where the subject is centered and the junk around doesn't matter. In that capacity the tiny size is a bonus, and the poor outer lens performance will draw towards the central subject.
How is the distortion? My Lomo Minitar 32 is all sorts of terrible - pincouch distortion to the max.

It has barrel distortion and it's noticeable. It takes +10 in LR to fix it.

Life's too short to be messing around with anything intentionally called 'BS'. Though I must admit that 'Funleader' is another interesting moniker created by a random-name generator but one that is more irony than nonsense, given its place of origin. 'Astrhori' deserves honorable mention too.

Fred, I admire you for buying one after you already didn't like the MS Optics 28mm 1.7 which is pretty much the same thing but faster 🙂
I do not think ‘admire’ means what you think it means.

I didn't want to believe!
But yes, although their optical design is quite distinct, they do share the same 'unique character' (FC weirdness). Even at f/2.8 it's hard to manage that rendering unless shooting at very close distance.

I still don't quite understand why they didn't just send you another lens?
I still have the case.
I know, right? The issue is they refuse to acknowledge that either they messed up, or that it wasn't delivered. Even though the tracking # they provided showed it wasn't delivered.
This is why I would never, ever buy anything from AliExpress ever again. I think the angle they are going for is it was delivered, but I replaced the lens w the iphone case to claim it wasn't.
