p.1 #1 · Death Valley 2023 Part III (and an upcoming SF Bay Area "open studio")
I've been to Death Valley NP twice this season, first in January and then at the end of March. I shared photographs from those visits in two previous threads, but since then I've worked on more images from the second visit. Here are a few samples. Enjoy!
NOTE: We are doing an "open studio" here in the San Francisco Bay Area on the weekend of May 20-21. There will be many prints, likely including a few from the recent Death Valley adventures. PM me for more information and I'll share details with you.

One feature that all of those have in common is that they were made with long focal lengths. I like to use them in big places like this, since they let me respond quickly when light changes so quickly that there is no time to move... and they let me control the juxtapositions of elements at different distances.

Dan, another wonderful set from your DV work. You are a master at using the telephoto focal length range to create compelling landscape compositions. Id love to see the prints in person.

And, yes, I'm big on using long focal lengths for landscapes. In particular they often work well for the grand landscapes in wide open places like Death Valley.
I wish there was a way to share prints with FM folks but, well, kinda' hard to do that on the Internet. However, for those in the San Francisco Bay Area... our "open studio" event is this weekend and, of course, we'll have a lot of prints on display. See the original post for links to more information.
