I pre ordered when it was available and took delivery of it today. Hope it lives up to the excellent reviews it has received. Nice to see Sony delivers new products on their announced schedule. Can’t say the same for RF lenses from Canon (RF 135mm f/1.8L IS) and from Nikon ( Z 100-400mm S and Z 400mm f/4.5) I tried to buy when they came out. Understand the new 50mm f/1.4 GM is much easier to build but these companies have been designing and manufacturing lenses for many decades and the impact from COVID should be predictable at this point even if they have not been solved.
Sorry for the rant.

Definitely going to find a lot of happy owners. Especially those that don't have the 1.2 which can feel a bit hefty in the hands.

As much as I like the 1.2GM I'll take the 1.4GM being lighter than the 35GM

I think you will notice it being lighter on your wallet by a C note a lot more than the actual 8g of lighter weight vs. the 35GM
Figures.... I went to order today and it is now out of stock at B&H for 7 to 14 days.......Thats OK though as with my Payboo card sales tax savings, another C note ($113.58 actually), I can wait a bit. Ordered, using Fred's link above.

I would buy one but I cannot both 50GM 1.2 and 50GM 1.4 on my camera at the same time.
