Maybe time to start a RF 135 image thread here are a couple of my first images with the RF 135 paired with the R5 wide open @ f1.8 it's not a lite piece of glass but so far really happy with it. Our 3 Scotties had spa day yesterday and Finn (Wheaten) and Oliver (Brindle) were willing to pose while Abby was not
I am really impressed with your pictures, especially the ones of your dog running and jumping. I was curious which AF case(s) you typically use for pictures like this.

Thank you. I use case 3 the most and case 2 when I have trouble with case 3.
Rob you should get that dog a movie agent. You can’t get cuter than that. Think of all the camera gear you could buy as the it’s manager. Oh wait you already have it all any way. Nice shots.

First real session with this lens, i believe if you are a wedding photographer, the new holy trinity is the RF 28-70 f/2, RF 85 f/1.2, RF 135 F/2
I ordered this lens from B&H, Adorama, and Canon on April 20th. By the 24th, Canon had shipped it out so I cancelled the other two orders. It arrived today.
If you're trying to get this lens quickly, I would suggest trying Canon.
Well, some stacked in-store deals & discounts at my local shop resulted in an attractive final price (relative to MSRP) on this just-released, hard to find lens, so I caved and got it.
But I'm still hoping Canon makes a 70-135/2 to truly complement the 28-70/2!
I'm coming from years with the EF 135/2 and while it was still good on mirrorless, wasn't a perfect transition (lower fps rate due to its age, lower contrast, sharpness and flare resistance compared to my growing RF lineup).
I can live with the RF's size and weight, but don't like how large the hood is (it's the same one used for the 600/11). Wondering if anyone has found a decent off-the-shelf, more compact alternative? With the RF 70-200/4 I'm using the shorter hood from the EF 85/1.4 (the RF 50/1.2 hood also fits) and like that a lot more than the 70-200's official hood. I ordered an ET-88B knockoff (probably only exists due to the inexpensive 600/11 market) and will probably cut an inch or so off the end. However, I was hoping for something that didn't flare out, increase the width and consume so much storage space. Perhaps a short 82mm screw-in metal hood?

@rscheffler@, may I ask you where did you buy it? I am looking for it . Thanks
I'm in Ontario, Canada and bought it locally. They only had one in stock. I was surprised they even had it.
The Vistek website (a small chain of pro shops across Canada) shows stock.
Camera Canada also shows stock. This website used to be popular with US buyers of super-tele lenses back when the price in Canada combined with the USD exchange rate resulted in considerable savings.
For US options, I recall there were some store names suggested in the 100-300 thread, and perhaps also in the 135/1.8 non-images thread, which I think is a few pages back by now.
Just thought I would follow up. Ordered mine originally from B&H back on Nov 16, 2022. Finally shipped to me on Jun 2nd, 2023 and got it on the 5th. Only took 6 and a half month to get it. Have got to get out an try it out on my EOS R5. Use to own th EF 135/2L and use it all the time on my 5Dx family. Mistakenly sold it when I switched to Sony because I was concerned about adapting it to FE mount. Bought back into Canon with the EOS R and then R5 but still shooting with Sony as well. Now need to get out and compare it to the Sony FE 135/1.8 GM. The stabilization on the Canon version should give it a step up I hope. We will see. Wish me luck.
