My wife and I recently took a trip to Kauai. When I got there I realized I didnt pack my camera bag with any of the stuff I wanted to take other than my camera and 70-200. I was missing my filters, cards, readers and landscape lens. With the limited camera resources on the island I managed to get a few things and was able to take a few photos. These are not my best efforts but I was definitely flustered and really just didnt take as many photos as I would normally. We got in alot of hiking and fun activities though making it an amazing trip! Full Rez photos can be seen here https://www.joeltpowell.com/Landscapes/
Thanks for looking, Joel

These are fantastic! I feel your pain as I too have traveled and realized I wanted to bring more or different gear but you should be very proud of "not your best effort". This a great set and I very partial to #3 the canyon shot and #4 the tree lined road. The depth of field produced at 200mm produces a great and unique perspective!

I really like the first image...nice timing with the spouting horn. I love Kauai, try to make it over every year...heading there in the fall.
Thanks Chez! Love Kauai also. My wife and I go twice a year at least. Absolutely love Waimea Canyon. My favorite place on earth!

I spend most of my time in the North. Probably favorite place is the Queen’s bath…magical watching the sunset.
I personally love Queens Bath as well. My wife and I have jumped in. Talk about a rush!! Scary as hell the first time! I haven't been back to that side of island since before the pandemic. We have friends that live in Poipu and stay there mostly. I have been to every island but Kauai is magical, using your word! I could go on and on about the different places on the island. Just a special place in general and I have been all over it to partake in its beauty. Enjoy your trip and take some amazing photos!!

I've walked down to the Queen's Bath just to stop at the end of the trail and watch in awe as the waves pounded the lava bench. There was no way I could even attempt to walk over to the bath. It can be a scary and dangerous place...many lost their lives there.

That canyon with the waterfall looks gorgeous. Can’t imagine being there in person!
Yes, pictures and video does not do it justice. We hiked along the canyon trail overlooking the canyon and just the pure vastness cant be captured. Exhilarating for sure!
Looks like not having the right gear still worked out quite well for you. This is a beautiful set! My favorites are "Waimea Canyon" and "Rice Ranch". Thank you for sharing these.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I really wanted to take some longer exposures but just had to manipulate settings. All good though!
