We were in Namibia and Botswana this past summer, and one of my favorite things to see were of course the lilac breasted rollers. Not uncommon, but often skittish...I was fortunate to get a few good looks at them this trip.

It is a very attractive bird Richard. The one with the amber background has much better IQ best showing off the Roller.

I agree, but you might want to crop the bottom slightly tighter to eliminate the distractions.

Boy that was a rookie mistake! Fixed, cropped just slightly to get the stuff out of the bottom of the displayed image. Thank you!

Very pretty Richard, I saw them in Tanzania a few years ago, but didn't get as nice as these. #3 & #4 for me.

Thanks gang. I had so many good images from our recent Africa trip I decided to break them up by subject. I always loved the look of these birds, but this trip was the first time I had to see them often and sometimes up close not flying away!
