I don’t believe many own this fine lens. I bought it about 4 years ago to try something way beyond my comfort zone. Going in, I knew it wouldn’t be a lens I used all the time, but instead, one that would produce magic at the right place and time.
True to form, that has been my experience so far. On those occasions I place it on the camera, I almost always get at least one keeper. Here’s to the Voigtlander 10mm!

I forgot you had it too! Nice images.
I like to take it along with a 17-28/2.8 and a 24-70.
For trips where I think it might come in useful, such as on Maui a few weeks ago, my kit is oftentimes the CV 10, CV 15, and 28-60. Sharp copies of each & easy to pack/carry. I've kicked around adding something like a 17-28 to my kit though.

I sold my 15mm since I found I could use the 10mm in crop mode to get 15mm very effectively. The 10, 17-28, and 24-70 triplet is very good.
Great idea for a thread and great pics shared. This lens just came to my attention from a post in the thread of good slow lenses. My love for the CV15 and 21 coupled with the pics from this thread will now cause me to get one for myself.
Great idea, Eric @mudlake! I had this lens for a while and I had a great time with it. The images were rewarding, too . But for some “stupid” reasons, I sold it for the slightly narrower brother, the CV 12mm lens. I could NOT tell the difference in IQ between the two but the 10mm was definitely more distinctive in its rendition.
Here are a few images from a visit to the Getty Museum in LA and from Las Vegas…

Nice! And thanks. Look for a good deal on the buy/sell forum here. They come up occasionally for good prices.
Great thread. I love the CV10. It's a surprisingly versatile lens - you can use it for architecture, landscape, interiors, abstract photography, even people!

It’s hard for those who have never used such a wide angle to visualize just how wide 10mm is. Here’s a comparison of various focal length’s fields of view from https://vahonen.info/fov/
Red box is 10mm, green box is 14mm, blue box is 20mm, and pink box is 50mm. It’s insane how much wider 10mm is than even the super wide 14mm!
I’m considering getting the 12-24GM but after looking at my 10mm images, I really like them. Will the 12-24GM give me more/better than my current combo of 10/5.6 + 20/1.8?
'Rectilinear'....first time that I'd heard of this type of lens and from the images posted here I'm surprised that its not more popular. I may have to add it to my CV stable of fine lenses!!
It's funny the CV10 doesn't get talked about much. It's hard to take pictures with it that aren't as much pictures of how extreme the lens is as of the subject matter, but when you do, they're spectacular. No matter how wide you think the field of view is, it's always wider. It's a bit inconvenient keep your images uncluttered too since almost everything that's not behind you is in the picture!

I think it’s not too popular because for many, 20mm is wide. And 20mm is wide, but compared to 10mm on full frame, 20mm is literally a telephoto lens.
The thing about the 10mm is that it doesn’t work in most situations. But when it works, it WORKS.

In your opinion do you think the Super Wide Helier 15mm would be a better choice, and maybe more practical for more situations?

I actually sold my cv15 since I have a high megapixel camera. The cv10 is a 15mm in crop mode and looks great. With the 10mm, I can have 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15mm if I want.
