Really cool. The added fire was done really well. I might dial the skin and eye editing down a little bit though, and maybe warm the color temperature a bit as I'm seeing a lot of magenta tones in the skin.
Great job on keeping the kicker form getting to hot. And did you drag the shutter to get the flames or was that done in post? Fun image and well done. Lotta testosterone in your house. Gotta feel for you daughter and wife ha ha .....

Thank you. You are probably right about the skin tones - the D300 was never spot on for that. The fire is actually just what was happening though I never actually saw the tongue shape til I got around to processing the file. His left eye got too much spill from a reflector perched in a ladder-back chair which not only accounts for the catch light/brightness, but the odd black extension to the pupil.

Thanks! Shutter was 1/250th (the max my Nikon bodies could synch with Alien Bees strobes - Canon's were 1/160th) The flames were all different shapes, but were produced for each shot with lighter fluid on a small rolled up wick of paper towel stuffed into the cut end of the pepper. I would light it at his right shoulder, and he would drag it to the final position which would leave a trail of smoke.
The first boyfriend my daughter brought home got scared off by the gauntlet of brothers, but she has a great sense of humor.
