I shoot from a small motor boat and there is a cutout where the engine is mounted. I have the rear of the boat facing the loons, kneel down and place my 600 in the cutout on either side of the motor. I need to wear knee and elbow pads and I have to maneuver the boat while kneeling down but I get the low-angle shots.
Your loon images are over the top excellent, Vladimir! I love them all but those of loon chicks and those showing crayfish in their beak and especially sweet.
Are you floating on dock platform of some type for these ultra low at water level images?
These are peaceful and exciting Vladimir. Each is a magnificent capture, some even beyond that
The tight shots are excellent and great comps, however that last image is such a wonderful open comp I love it.
A vote is compliment in a big way, you certainly earned that from me, just absolutely stunning!

Vladimir - These are beautiful ! Incredible work on every image. The low level just makes these that much better. I can tell you put in a lot of time and effort in order to capture these shots. These are so good. I agree with what Karl said "A vote is compliment in a big way" You got my vote.
Super demonstration of how low angles make for superb compositions. I understand the challenge of doing that in a boat that you are also maneuvering.
And really nice light....
And flat water on many.....
And that high key shot!.....
And cool feeding shots.....
Top set of images.....looked through multiple times.

Thank you very much, Joshua! Just watching them go about their lives is so fascinating and therapeutic - I'm really lucky that I can experience this whenever I have a few hours to spare...

Thank you so much, Karl!! Just a good old-fashioned fishing boat. Watching them at sunrise or sunset when everything is quiet and the water is still is an absolutely magical experience...
