Sooner or later I was going to catch up to a decent encounter with a Kingfisher! I have let them laugh at me for way too many years, always hear them, often see them but rarely in range. Decided to stand in an area to watch for eagles and little birds as evening rolled in. Much to my delight I found an area traveled by a Kingfisher and managed to get in a handful of keepers finally.
And yes, a few eagles passed by as well as some ducks and on my return walk to the car as the sun was down and there was a nice glow, the King of the trees greeted me

You did well with the speedy king fishers. 4 is a view I've never seen and it's your best exposure. The juvenile eagle looks great Karl. King of the trees? Your nuts! :-} That's a nice photo with the fall colors.
Karl - Congrats on fianally getting your Kingfisher shots and they are sweet. Looks like you got the last laugh! Take that Mr Kingfisher, or Mrs Kingfisher (I have never seen one so I really don't know what I talking about)
Nice kingfisher photos! Even if they aren't in range for a decent picture, they're so fun to watch as they fly, hover, dive, and repeat to catch a fish.
