Thanks. That's the one I saw from the Leica Youtube video. I ordered this one from Amazon. Looks like the same thing. When you are using it, do you release the gel at an angle to avoid damage to the sensor like in this Leica video.

Cleaning Stick
The good news is that we are actually dabbing/cleaning a sensor cover glass, not the sensor itself.

Here's an old video cleaning a DSLR, but gives you an idea how how to use the gel stick to dab spots off the sensor cover glass

I'm not sure I understand your question "When you are using it, do you release the gel at an angle?" its a solid gel stick so you lightly press straight down on the spot(s) on the cover glass to lift off the spot. BTW I shine a small LED light to see the spots to clean, and

@18:25 in the video. He is demonstrating how he uses the gel stick. Once pressed down, release at an angle instead of pulling straight up.

Good video. Now I understand about the angle release. Makes sense.

Really enjoying the colors. I've been very lazy with learning the rangefinder bc my shooting is not in the greatest light conditions. The visioflex has been my crutch.

I bought my first Eyelead kit (special gel/coating specifically for Sony sensors) from this website via the German manufacturer. Not sure if they still sell as I now buy from the Leica Store. Photographylife.com website did warn at the time I initially purchased about not buying from Amazon.com as there were some stories about clever counterfeits being sold as Eyelead brand. Not sure if anything has changed since and maybe why some report smudges on their sensors when first using this swab. I don't know.

I've paid a little extra to do what I could to try to make sure I bought the authentic German product--but also who knows maybe I have been just lucky as I've been using for years with no issues.

FWIW, I always dab the swab on a new sticker to clean the gel before I use. You can also test with a filter for potential smudges before you dab the sensor cover glass to make sure.

Just say no to the Visioflex. It is just like using a lower end mirrorless camera. Learn the range finder it is fun, teaches you a lot, and is a wonderful tool. The essence of the M experience in my opinion.

DNG
I checked that DNG. There is some dust on the sensor but I didn't detect any bifurcation issue. It seems to be a M10 body.

To be able to see the number of actuations, the camera needs to be connected to a mac running the Leica Sync app.

However, the number of the DNG file you provided is 9858. This does not give an accurate reading but perhaps a ballpark.
Yeah I took a few more with his 90mm. The sensor was clean. I think it was my lens. I ended up buying it. The chrome M10 is more gorgeous in person.

I think most M10s start at L1009001. https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/272773-leica-m10-image-number-start/ so this M10 probably has 800s. It was in mint condition looks like 800 shutter count body.

Enjoy! I believe that the original M10 remains a viable and relevant camera.

I am planning to remain at the 24MP M10-series level of model progression, for as long as practicable. Well, actually, when my M10 needed service, after a mishap, I did “upgrade,” buying a pre-owned M Type 246 Monochrom, which was still a current model, in mid-2018. The low-light, high-ISO performance of the 246 Monochrom is what made this an “upgrade,” over the M10. So, this is my “team” of Leica M cameras.

I had never heard of this bifurcation issue, with the higher-megapixel models. I reckon that this is yet another reason to try to remain happy with the 24MP M cameras. (Not that there is anything wrong with resolution, but I have 47MP and 50MP DSLRs, which I use only occasionally, because 20MP is usually ample.)

I also realized early M10 may have ISO dial malfunction. It's fixed with later M10, M10P, M10 R. The dial is pretty stiff. I may just use menu to adjust.

With early M10 bodies, there were reports of the ISO dial malfunctioning (like not changing the ISO) and needed to be repaired by Leica. It seems that Leica fixed the initial problems though. The dial is stiff even on my M11 though. I use it all the time and never had issues with it.

Mine is one of the earlier units serial from 51. If it's fine so far, you'd think it should be fine?

It loosens up the more you use it and if it is an early model it has probably been fixed. I sometimes just leave mine up and adjust it with my finger when needed.

I got my M10 in January.
It also has a serial number starting with 51 and was, according to Leica, made in April 2017.
I haven't had any problems with the ISO dial, or anything else.

I like it. So far I only took some family shots. Something very gratifying about using RF focus in a beautiful body and tiny little lenses. 35 Lux FLE is coming Friday hopefully an upgrade from RX1Rii can finally be realized. The sensor has bad highlight recovery just like everyone said. I took a picture of my daughter's kindergarten graduation (I still don't know why kindergarteners need a graduation). I even underexposed -1 EV, and the highlights still can't be recovered. RX1Rii's sensor is 7 years old, and it's better than the 5 year-old M10 sensor.

I'm two feet in the rabbit hole though. The luxury, built quality and history definitely is a big part of it.

Great shot of your family! Priceless expressions.

I think you are going to like the 35/1.4 FLE. It's my favorite 35mm M lens.

If you want extra highlight recovery, both M10-R and M11 are a step above. (They perform identically in this regard)

Aside from the higher resolution, another reason I upgraded from the M10 to the M10-R was the superior highlight recovery.
The workaround for the M10/M10-P with high contrast scenes is to lower exposure as you described.

BTW, Lenspen worked well to get rid of the little stubborn dust. I ordered the SensorKlear kit with the loupe. Thankfully it didn't leave any residue as some of the reviews said.

Yes, I bought a new one myself. Make sure to only use it to clean the sensor. After you use it use a blower to remove any dust from it and store it.

When changing lenses, make sure that the viewfinder is clear and that the frame lines are accurate. Sometimes the frame lines may not match the actual field of view. Make sure that the rangefinder is accurately and correctly aligned. This is very important to achieve accurate focusing. When buying driver's license michigan fake id online, also make sure that everything is done correctly there. Make sure that the lens mount is clean, with no signs of wear or damage that could affect the connection between the lens and the camera. Take a few test shots under different lighting conditions to ensure that the camera's exposure meter is accurate. Make sure the LCD screen is free of scratches, cracks, and dead pixels.

Good news: someone released a Python script to check the shutter count on M11 cameras via USB:

Apparently Leica uses a known Picture Transfer Protocol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picture_Transfer_Protocol) for the M11, so the script just interprets that request.
