Is there any way to reprogram (via camera body or PC) the IBIS setting vs the aperture values? I only have MF lenses between 24 and 300 mm so don't need 15 or 800 mm for instance but 55 and 100 mm for instance are as it is now lacking in the factory installed range so I would rather have those than focal lengths I will never use.
There was a way with the previous model (EA7) but not this one as far as I know.
Any experience with whether this adapter will work with older M39 lenses that have the M39 to M adapter? I only have two Leica at this point and would only be interested if this would work for both.
Another thing I have noted since getting my adapter is that wide angle lenses almost only work at all to get an AF lock with the centre focusing point (the manual also suggest that it is like this) and the more tele (longer focal length) the lens has, the more one can get an AF lock out at the sides.
At least on static non human subjects, focusing in the centre part of the frame basically always, no matter lens, has really good focusing precision it seems.
But if one have a lens that locks AF out on the sides, it front focuses. I have tried with the lens both at infinity and other lens focusing ring interval settings.
I have tried with a bunch of Minolta SR (MC/MD) and M42 lenses. Both AF-S and AF-C on A9 and A7C and it is not that the lens is softer away from the centre, if I retake the image and manually focus at the same point near the edge that I got an AF lock at, my manually focused version is clearly sharper. I can also see that the AF version is sharper in front of what it locked on at.

First I was going to try to buy one of these on Ebay, but shipping was 3-4 weeks out. Then I saw it at B&H but, it's not in stock yet...Today after catching up with this thread, I noticed Amazon had them on "Prime". Will have mine Tuesday.

Apparently Techart won't give any warranty for purchases from Ebay or Amazon.
However, adapters from B&H or their own site come with full warranty.

If Voigtlander 40mm 1.2 VM has minimal focus distance at 70cm, what it would be with this adapter?
I understand that it makes it closer, but how much?
Around 35 cm / 14 inch.
Ach, nice, thank you for confirming. That's pretty good, similar to E version then.
I have another question, forgive me if it sounds silly, but I dont anything how those adapters work.
So when using it with VM lens, I set f on lens and that's it? Camera will automatically set shutter speed?
So its not like old FULL manual?

Yes, if your camera is set to A(perture priority) you set the aperture on the lens and the camera will choose the shutter speed.

Well, its gonna take a while, I first need to sell both lens, then buy adapter and find good deal on CV40 M
Keep in mind that the M-mount version won't perform as well on your Sony compared to the native E-mount. There will be amplified outwards field curvature in your images.

I see - Fred, could you please explain me what this field curvature issue is with those VM lens on E?
Smaller VM lens, its weight and auto focus with new adapter is so tempting that I only think of swapping whole kit.
Do you maybe have example to show what should I be prepared for?
