Finally, the first time out for some bird photography after getting 2 cataract surgeries some 6 weeks apart. The most recent one was almost 3 weeks ago. Too bad, the owls were just standing around at their burrow. I spent almost 3 hours and didn’t see any flight whatsoever. Oh, well. For good measure, I include 2 in-flight images captured before my cataract surgeries.
Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave any feedback,
Joshua
Gorgeous Joshua, I was wondering where you were. How are your new lenses working out? I just had a checkup on my eyes yesterday and I'm getting close to having to get it as well. One think for sure that Sony stuff is still taking sharp as a tack stuff.
All eyes appear to be fine here and with you Joshua Maybe they just wanted to give you a little 'eye-to-eye' therapy
Nice images and glad to hear you are back on track!

I appreciate your kind words, Dave! My vision is not 100% yet. Sometimes, it seems really sharp but at other times, kind of blurry. I still have to use quite a bit of eye drops. But for sure everything seems to be brighter now and I am back of using my sunglasses again during bright days. To a certain degree, cataracts provided some kind of sun shield .

Thank you very much, Karl! Yup, I can use some ery-to-eye therapy. Just the owls were not cooperating this morning at all. I will have to give it another try tomorrow.

Glad you're able to get back out. Even standing around they are cool looking birds.
Thank you very much, Dan! Yes, they are cool alright but some actions would have been great. We encouraged them to take off but somehow they didn’t comply… Oh, well, that’s wildlife, I guess.
Great shots Joshua! It takes a bit of time for your brain to adjust to the new lenses, especially if you chose bifocal lenses. I went with single distance (long distance) and it took some time to "dial them in," but you'll be amazed at what you've been missing!
Nice to see you back, Joshua! I hope your cataract surgeries went well. I had cataract surgery a few years ago, and it was a revelation to see how much better I could see. The time between surgeries was a little awkward, but I am so glad I had it done.

Thank you very much, Greg! Yes, I noticed that it takes fairly long, longer than I anticipated but I started seeing the benefits. The reason for a longer “recovery” is that I chose to get a mono vision. I developed that for whatever reasons but now the new lenses accentuate that more so. But I can get by without glasses for far away and for reading. Freedom of glasses, finally!

Thank you very much, Shirley! Good to be back. Yes, I started seeing the benefits. I hope it will get even better as time progresses..
Excellent set Joshua. May not be the action you want, but enjoyable just the same.
Glad you are healing well and quickly. I have been told that one might see halos around slights with the mono. Are you experiencing any of that.

Birdie
Thank you very much, Birdie! Both my eyes healed or still healing pretty fast but getting used to the new lenses (no, not photography ones ) takes me longer. My left eye suffers from astigmatism and after the cataract was removed the effect of the astigmatism became more pronounced. I have noticed a significant vision improvement for short distances since that eye shows only minor astigmatism. I can read and work at my monitor without squinting now. And fortunately without halos. Even previously, my vision was semi mono vision. Just the cataract surgeries made it more pronounced and I am glad I chose that correctionat the recommendation of the ophthalmologist. Now, I don't need any glasses.
