Coincidentally a stray cat on mice hunt ran across the way this evening on a short bike tour.
No shots that I would normally post here, but since the light was already very weak accordingly high ISO values.
Good opportunity to put the new "Denoise AI" in Lightroom Classic through its paces, I'm pretty impressed about what it brings out.
What excites me the most about this lens, in combination with my Z6 it weighs only 1.82 kg/4lb, including card & battery.
Optically, apart from the limitations that come with the moderate speed, it plays in the league of the Big guns.
This is a lens of the kind that gets you out because it's not a burden rather a pleasure with its relative flyweight.
Hardly noticeable even on a bike with a peak design slim camera/shoulder strap.
The Z6's noise tolerant sensor and the possibilities offered by tools like Denoise AI or Deep Prime make this combination a great package even in low light.

Fluttering Sheerwater, Whitefronted Terns and gull on the Waitemata Harbour, NZ. Have reprocessed some of these from earlier in year with Adobe denoise and I like it.

My good friend Andrew received his Nikon Z 400 f4.5 VR S yesterday but has too many commitments over the next few days and wouldn't be able to take advantage of the lens. So, he told me to take it and get some photos to share with everyone. After some very minor arm twisting, I relented and begrudgingly took it off his hands.
I did take a few shot yesterday when he got it, but it was very late in the afternoon and the BIF shots were a little noisy due to high ISO and took the edge of the shots. The Z9 + 400 tracked the sea gulls very well, AF was fast and accurate.
Taronga Zoo is the easiest place to guarantee a variety and in order to get close enough so not much cropping would be required. It is a sharp lens, very nice bokeh and lovely overall IQ.
Some are with the 1.4x TC.
