This very large African elephant was sure enjoying eating the tender blooming plants in the middle of the Chobe River! What a beautiful sight! We spent a long time just watching and photographing him!
I'm posting on FM because of the high quality of images on this website. So let me know what you think of this image!

Hello Karen, not sure that I have seen you post here in this forum so I offer my welcome
Such a beautiful image, a completely different take of an elephant and a graceful one. The wetness nicely shows off all that skin wrinkled character and gives it a very modeled look. A lovely shot as well as the environment within!

Karen, your work with the images you brought back from Africa is simply outstanding. Gorgeous work, the cropping and composition chosen for this image is beautiful.

Thanks! This wasn't in the Okavango. It was in the Chobe River near Kasane.

Guess it has been a while since I posted here. Morris, Louie and hopefully a few will remember me! ! Apparently all my earlier threads are in an archive somewhere. Here's a thread I posted after our trip to Tanzania in 2020....
Gero
Appreciate it, Gero!

Wow! One of the most beautiful images I have seen!
The African elephant, and all it has been through, is my reason for planning a safari. I love everything about these giants and their babies. Recommended reading: "The Elephant Whisperer".

Very nice composition and lighting. The wet skin does a special job of showing the texture of the hide, something that we don't see as well on dry, dusty elephants. This adds a lot of interest. Thanks for sharing!

This is a beautiful shot of "animal behaviour".
Lovely low angle and well controlled DOF and great light gives it a lot of vibrance.
