Beautiful, Steve!
So many waterfall photos I see on Instragram are so dark - Not sure why - artificial mood? I wouldn't want anything that dark on. my wall. But this is how it should be - love it!
Im not sure if it is a monitor rez thing but on a 30inch QHD the water is just a little bit crunchy. On a phone, tablet, 4k, or 5k it likely will not be an issue.
Thank you! Steve

Beautiful, would make a great large print.
Thanks Jim. I think I'll add a print of it to my "waterfall wall". Steve

Perfect choice of shutter speed. Well done.
Thank you! Increasingly, I aim to retain some texture in the water for these images. Steve

Thanks Doug! I think there's a time and place for moody, but in this one I was going for going more for just a little bit of wow. Hope you're having a good late spring there in MT! Steve

Thanks Mark! I was going for some texture in the water, especially the foreground water, as opposed to velvet. The full resolution version looks as I intended on my 4K monitor. Downsizing, jpeg conversion, and screen sharpening on export from Lightroom is always a bit of a guessing game for me. That's certainly a work in progress. Then there is the diversity of monitors, phones, tablets etc. that you mention. Thanks for the heads up though. Something to be cognizant of. Steve

Beautiful shot! I wish had waterfalls like this close by.
Thanks Scott! I know I'm fortunate to have lots of them close to me. You have some pretty nice ones in MD as well! Steve

Nice job Steve. One of my favorite streams over the years....Kevin
Thank you Kevin. Good to meet a fellow West Virginian here on FM! I have a long (~45 years) history with the Blackwater Falls/Canaan Valley area as well. I live close by and find myself there pretty often for fishing and photography. Shays is a favorite of mine for the latter!

We've only been visiting the area since 2012 but we try and make it up there a couple of times a year. This waterfall was one of the first I ever photographed and it was just a couple of weeks prior to Sandy. I'm looking forward to visiting later this month.

That's cool! If you haven't been to Blackwater Falls SP since the recent facility improvements I think you'll be pleased. The lodge rooms and cabins have received significant and welcomed improvements. I think the BBQ restaurant in the lodge is also quite good. Enjoy your upcoming trip!
