Pius these shots are amazing. You must have arms like a blacksmith, to track these little rocks. I dare say you are correct about the focusing system, but your hand eye coordination is off the charts.
Pius, another great set of an attractive bird. These are wonderful.
Mind sharing some of your technique with us mere mortals ? For example, is the bird perched and you have spot (or zone) tracking locked on prior to flight and then you track as it flies? Alternatively are you catching this bird in mid-flight and just tracking. It would seem the former might lead to more shots, but only liftoff ones.

Hi David, I used zone and the bird was perched, I would track it taking off from the perch. I tried to pick it up in flight... Sony is not there yet... for a fast bird like the bunting. Kinda reminds me of the pygmy owl fly's fast but just a short distance. You were correct in your analysis.
