SAR keeps saying "RIV" instead of "RV"
Doesn't do much for their credibility; you'd think a site devoted to spreading rumors about upcoming Sony cameras would be aware that the RIV was released in 2019?

That would, of course, be assuming that SAR puts a priority on credibility
Okay I see a few additions at least from the last time I looked
61MP sensor (95% chance this is a new BSI sensor with better light gathering performance).
New BionZ XR processor
TOTALLY New Autofocus system with AI deep learning
693 phase detection points
8k 24p (cropped)
4k60p 4k24p (full read out)
heat sink design of the Sony A7sIII (up to 30min 8K recording without overheating)
S cinetone is available
AI assisted auto WB
8 stop IBIS
improved buffer up to 88 uncompressed RAW (at least with 2x CF Express A),
in lossless RAW you get large / medium / small full frame file sizes
New Pixelshift function with movement correction
Fully articulating LCD screen
Body looks like a mix between the Sony A7sIII and Sony A7IV.
A7rV preorder page will be up on those links at BHphoto and Fotokoch
improved buffer up to 88 uncompressed RAW (at least with 2x CF Express A),
in lossless RAW you get large / medium / small full frame file sizes
So sounds like a totally new processor and I do like the S/M/L although I can actually do that in post just saves some space on card. But once you go low you can't go back to the full 61mpx file
Fully articulating LCD screen So now it maybe more than a rumor
Again some improvements which should help with sales. But for a A1 owner nothing earth shattering to replace with. This is not a landscape camera as really not much over the A7RIV, maybe the Pixelshift it was designed correctly

The only feature that piques my interest is the 8-stop IBIS. 95% of what I shoot is not moving, so my A1 may be overkill, and I've been following this new A7RV with some interest. It would really have to up the game to get me to make a switch.....guess we will know more tomorrow.
I wonder in practice if the 8-stop is really so MUCH better than the current 5 Stop. Sounds more like marketing BS which if you been around the business for awhile we get a ton of BS. Im totally open minded though

Good question.....could be a marketing buzzword to generate sales.......could be a real-world game-changer.....probably something in between. There's a few honest reviewers out there so I'll wait to hear from them....I trust the folks here on FM (well, most of them) so I'll be curious as to what they discover.
Yeah. This camera is woefully uninteresting other that buzzwords like AI and the 8 axis IBIS. It's essentially the RIV with the newer processor of the 7IV, only with the 61MP sensor.
I suppose if you are having the discussion about which should I choose then this will have to be the defacto latest and greatest. It will have a higher MP and of course cost more money.

I would like to test it myself more out of curiosity than anything else. I was really hoping for more a A7C replacement that maybe uses the 31mpx sensor from the A7IV with a better EVF setup.
EU and gb prices are always higher than in USD - not only as a number but also in currency (ok to be precise euro and gbp and other european currencies are on the decline compared to dollar now). I expect 4k or slightly less in USD. As far i remeber canon r5 was 3900 USD and 4200 GBP at launch.
So does anyone think that since the A1 has the same upgraded processor as the A7RV that there will be an A1 firmware update that includes the AI driven autofocus subject detection and white balance that is planned for the A7RV? Or will Sony simply force people to buy an A1ii? Seems like from prior history with the significant AF upgrade to the A9 with v6 that Sony should throw existing A1 users a bone. Would love to hear your thoughts and speculations about this.
