Or as I like to call them, a rumour monetization site...
Seems like Sony got disciplined a few years ago and locked down on leaks, a la Apple. My impression at least, as seems SAR used to have more accurate insight into what was coming. There have been a bunch of Sony releases in last few years where SAR obviously had little or nothing until the last moment or even launch. I rarely go there anymore. Seems like they have a financial deal with Topaz and some other no-name software as they push them hard. Must always be evolving your business model!

So does anyone think that since the A1 has the same upgraded processor as the A7RV that there will be an A1 firmware update that includes the AI driven autofocus subject detection and white balance that is planned for the A7RV? Or will Sony simply force people to buy an A1ii? Seems like from prior history with the significant AF upgrade to the A9 with v6 that Sony should throw existing A1 users a bone. Would love to hear your thoughts and speculations about this.
It sounds like the a7r5 will have a newer processor than the A1, so I would say no. I would tend to agree it is good will for Sony to upgrade firmware to the limits of the hardware.
It *may* have focus stacking as well as all the other rumoured features. My source wasn't certain, because the list of new and improved stuff was a bit overwhelming... "everything but the kitchen sink, including some stuff he didn't think possible" was how he put it. So I ordered one (even though my previous post about the price may have been optimistic - it will be priced a bit higher in Canada (around $5300-$5400 in CAD).

I wonder in practice if the 8-stop is really so MUCH better than the current 5 Stop. Sounds more like marketing BS which if you been around the business for awhile we get a ton of BS. Im totally open minded though
That could be utilizing a slight crop, or only with certain lenses. I can't see how they could achieve 8 stops across the board with their limited lens mount diameter... but I guess we will see.

The big question for me is what will the through the EVF experience be like with something like a 200-600mm? That's an area where Sony's have always fallen down relative to the competition. Add that and a ring buffer electronic shutter pre-capture feature and you'd have a pretty good wildlife camera. AF wouldn't be as good as the A-1, but it doesn't have to be in order to be very very fun : )
That would be very nice, even makes it an advantage over A1.
I'd like RV to be similar to R5 in regard to being a general purpose camera (an upgrade from A7IV, but still missing the cutting-edge, but expensive tech from A1), not segmented into R(resolution) only.

And the best part is that SAR has no clue Quite funny, I wonder how many of the early rumors he makes up himself to have some traffic.
He may be clueless but he continues to roll in the dough from clueless people that still go to his site.
