p.6 #1 · Is it worth buying a Nikon d850 for wildlife in 2022?
If I needed silence, I would buy the Z9, if affordable. I use D4s, D5, and D850 cameras, for birds, but, as another post mentioned, birds do not seem to be upset about the shutter sound. Really, the Z9 is very much on our to-do list, when the affordability equation tilts in a favorable direction, though it will probably be my wife’s camera. She is the mentor who got me started in serious, interchangeable-lens photography, so, has the “seniority.” (Plus, I can “cheat,” some of the time, using a Canon 5Ds R, 5D IV, or 7D II, with their exquisitely quiet shutters, because I kept my Canon gear, after shifting to Nikon for birds, though I do not have the long super-telephoto lenses, for Canon, to reach as far.)
