A couple for today. Say's Phoebe - my 1st. it wasn't cooperating to get a better angle.
I very much like the Say’s Phoebe.
Your Yellow-rumped Warbler with the yellow throat is the Audubon’s variety whereas in the East we get Myrtle Warbler which has a white throat. They were once classed as 2 separate species then the powers that be lumped them together but they may be split again. Not sure which I like best.

Say's Phoebe's range is not in coastal BC, so not 100% sure what it's doing here (everyone was super excited and actively looking for it in the location I went to.... I just happened to be in the right place at the right time).

I think I prefer Myrtle warbler.
Theres been a Say's Phoebe here in Pennsylvania for months that is a long way out of it's range.
The Myrtle is a lovely Warbler indeed but I'm still on the fence, the Audabon's is pretty damn cute. The flood gates will be opening up in a week or so and then I'll be sat outside in a blind photographing everything that moves.

Mine finally arrived today. Can't wait to take it for a spin!
Congratulations Alistair
I’m interested in your thoughts of the lens after you’ve had sometime getting used to it, particularly if you find the 5mtr minimum focus distance an issue. I occasionally get birds landing close by, within 5mtrs. I had similar issues on a recent trip to NZ.
I believe the lens is going to be more readily available in Australia from here on.

I’ve had my 800PF for a while First 800PF Outing.
For birds at the shore or a lake it’s great. For closer birds in the back yard and woodlands I’ve found it’s better to use the 500PF due to initially getting the bird in the frame and then trying to get the whole bird in the frame. Too long.

Thank you Mike, that has confirmed my thoughts on the lens.
There appears to be some stock of the lens in resellers in Australia with more arriving over the coming weeks. I'll wait for the next round of sales and see how the pricing is.

Haha come on down! This was actually in his back yard, first time there and man was I impressed that someone had a rookery in his back yard. This place ticked off all the boxes and then some, he nailed it finding this place!!
