In answer to your question, yes the lens is easy to handhold. These were all handheld at Barnegat Jetty in a 20-25 mph wind. The large lens hood was not helping keeping it steady
I especially liked all the shorebirds. I like (on your website) that you include a description of your outing. This adds a lot to the experience of the day in nature.
Did you try doing video with the Z9? Without looking back, I seem to recall you mentioning here, that you would soon be doing that.

If so, what do you think?
I did have a little go. I shot 4 seconds of a Hooded Merganser but 2 seconds of it were the bird disappearing off the screen.
When I get a suitable subject I'll have another bash it.

Finally got a chance to head out for a day this past weekend for some shooting. I decided to wake up at 3am and make the 3-3.5hr drive from Charlotte down to Green Pond, SC to visit Donnelley Wildlife Management Area. This was my 2nd trip, coincidentally enough my first trip was about this same time last year.
Everything shot with Z9 + 800pf handheld using wide area L focus

Thanks! Its pretty nice, at least compared to my local spots around Charlotte.
People there were saying Bear Island is even better. Its about 5-10 miles away from there and I think opens back up here in the next 2 weeks.
