Any suggestions for a clear or UV filter for this lens Besides ENIS and Tiffen? I’ve followed Fred’s lead and ordered an Enis from Japan but who knows when it will arrive. Thanks
Mine left Osaka Airport some 11 days ago and there is no signs of it so far (unable to track it ever since it left that airport).
My last email from Buyee was in english saying they they had my filter. It had a link to use which brought up a page in Japanese. A friend, who is from Japan, looked at it and could not find any information on shipping, etc nor a tab to go to english. It did have an email address for questions which I used.

When in doubt, use the chat feature at the bottom right of the page. They are very helpful, and if you provide them with your order number, Buyee will assist you.
Fred I tried the chat button but could not understand how to make it work. I received an email yesterday saying my pack was ready to ship. After some time I figured out what I thought was the best shipping meathod, mail I think, and ordered it. Just now I received another email saying the package was not suitable for the shipping I selected, was given a refund, and told to go try again. This time I used the box they had checked already which was more money and will see what happens now.
Maybe I’m too old for this?
I just checked my paypal activity, I was refunded $10 for the first shipping and charged $26 for the second. Seems high for a little filter that should be able to go in the mail.
For me, after I have purchased the lens, it took few days until I saw it (on my buyee.jp accout) under "in storage" tab. At that point I had to press some "Please ship it to me" button (apparently, only at this stage buyee/yahoo got my lens from their supplier - so at this stage I had to tell them to sent it to me). Then the item position got changed from my "in storage" tab into my "delivery" tab. Also, when I hit the "send it to me" button, I had to choose a shipping method (which had a price/cost to it), but I have not noticed any money being withdrawn from my credit card for this transaction - the shipping cost has been paid when I bought the filter initially.
Now my filter seems to be with my country's customs, so, at least, it reached my country
Has anyone received an Eins 34mm filter with the glass inside a bit loose? I have several of these filters and haven't encountered this issue before, but I've received a report about it. I’m confident that placing four strips of "Gorilla Mounting Putty" on the front metal area of the filter, setting that section on a flat surface, and rotating the rear metal area should help tighten the glass inside.
Have received mine a few days ago, but the glass is not loose. Very low profile filter, indeed!
L.E. Really interested in getting any sort of lens cap to slide over the front of this lens - I guess a cap with 36mm inside diameter would fit...Any idea?

I was considering adding the CV 40/2.8 Heliar to complement my CV 28/2.8 (Type I). However, I’m also drawn to the new CV 50/3.5 APO-Lanthar (Type II). Though it’s larger, it offers a similar blur effect to the Heliar, delivers superior image quality, and has a closer focusing capability.

Yes, some say the best lens pairing to be either 24mm + 40mm or 28mm + 50mm. But who really knows?
Only you can decide. However, since these lenses will be used on a rangefinder that lacks 24mm or 40mm framelines, that's one reason I favor the 28/50mm combo. To be honest, I just prefer these focal lengths anyway.
Received it today, it is a very tight fit. I guess/hope the felt on its rim would wear-off in time and make the slide in easier as now it requires a bit of skill to put it on.

I'm also struggling to make a decision between the APO 50 f3.5 and Heliar 40 f2.8, but for my A7CII.
The performance of the 50 seems amazing and translates well to the Sony sensor (and I also need a small 50!), and I love the rendering of both, but I'm swayed to the 40mm as my preferred focal length.
Would I be missing out on getting this newer version of the 40 for my Sony, or should I get the close focus adapter and original version? I think I would be willing to forego a little corner sharpness, but not too much of the fine rendering.

The CV 40/2.8 is more compact and faster, while the CV 50/3.5 delivers superior image quality. If you’re using it on a Sony, the CV 50/3.5 M-mount performs optimally, whereas the CV 40/2.8 doesn’t perform as well on the Sony sensor stack.

You're not going to experience any IQ penalties using the VM-E version, but I find using Voigtlander's close focus adapter (or any without a focusing stick) takes away from the speed and experience some.

Thanks, that's good to know. I don't think I would go for the old Heliar because of the usability issues. I'm glad the newer Heliar has the same IQ.
