I've been giving the usage of this lens some thought. While I have been using it on my MP, that, along with cameras like the M5, M6, M6TTL are pretty much the absolute worst case usage scenario for this lens.
Why? Because those cameras are manual metering only cameras, which means if you set the aperture before you focus you are then limited to only changing the shutter speed with camera to eye unless you want to refocus with any aperture change you make.
A Leica M7 would be much better as it is has AE exposure - so set the aperture before you focus to what seems appropriate and the camera's AE mode will do fine tuning/heavy lifting (depending on how good you are at estimating exposure).
An unmetered M like an M3, M-A, M4 etc would be as good if not better as you set the exposure before you bring the camera to eye, so by the time you are focusing you've got all that other stuff already taken care of.
But really the best body for this lens would be a digital M, as you can use the Auto ISO function to take care of your aperture and shutter combinations. Will I still use this lens on my MP? Of course! Because logic never got in the way of my film photography before..
