Odd request but anyone who has this lens mind measuring it's length with caps on front and back? Not sure if listed specs include caps.
I just recently bought this lens for my new to me R5. I'm quite impressed with it so far. The MFD hasn't been nearly as big of a deal as I expected it to be so far. No great shots yet, but snapped a couple landscape shots as I was leaving the local nature preserve last night that I think turned out well.
I don’t think there’s anyone on this forum that ridiculed this lens more than me, but I’m man enough to admit I was probably wrong to do so. There’s no denying - judging by these images - that it’s a great lens.
It’s just getting my head around the F11 that’s stalling me.

You need to shift out of that old paradigm... advances in lens, sensor, and post-processing technologies have rendered it moot for the way the majority of images are viewed nowadays.
entertaining the idea of getting the 800mm. I wonder if this is better or worse compared to canon EF 400mm f5.6L + 1.4 or 2.0 TC?
I currently have the 400mm f5.6 EF, and it's been with me since i owned the first canon camera, and i love it.
After looking at the images posted here, i don't think the 800mm f11 would out-perform the 400mm f5.6 + TC.
