Sure Dan! I really like desaturated colors and flat light in photography. The simplest way I achieve this look is to just shoot on overcast days. However, if the weather isn't cooperating with my style and I get thrown an awful sunny day with blue skies and harsh light, I try my best not to shoot into the light and try to seek out scenes sheltered from the sun if possible. I also attempt to keep my post processing workflow simple, in the sense that I do not like to spend any more than ~30 seconds editing any single frame. When I do edit, I'll turn down the highlights, bump up the yellows ever so slightly, remove blues, and that's about it, before moving onto the next frame and repeating the same workflow. The real trick though, is just to wait for a beautiful overcast day and have nature do the bulk of the "toning" for me.
