Congratulations to Gregg B. for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
So this past weekend I was in Lake Tahoe enjoying winter weather and scenery. The place is packed with snowboarders and skiers now but since I was just shooting I was able to get around the lake and shoot without anyone in my way.
I mean, no one ski at 6am yet
I stayed there only for 2 nights so didn't have a lot of opportunities to shoot sunrise/sunset, but I managed to capture a few shots I liked....
Any thoughts?
Hi Gregg
Awesome shots as usual. I feel like you've captured the feel of the place in winter really well. You had some beautiful still conditions which were perfect for showing off the clarity of the water in #3. Really enjoying #1, #4 and #5 too. Beautiful work and I'm glad you shared it with us.
Gregg, spectacular work as usual. Love the bonsai rock picture. Completely different composition and the clarity of water is just amazing. Did u hike down to the Bonsai rock? It was too steep for my old knees. YGMV 👍🏻

I did hike down there but I liked the Bonsai rock from above more than from the "ground" level. But with a good weather/clouds it may also look good from the ground level. The problem was, I was only there for two days and didn't have much time to go back to it. Also, the level of water was very low and some of the rocks that would be great to compose the bonsai rock with were completely out of water. It may look good when all that snow melts in spring. There was a lot of snow all over so the lake will pick up some extra water for sure, and a lot of it.
Very beautiful images, Gregg, with the first one being my favorite. Love the glow in the early morning sky! I can feel the winter cold throughout this series!!!
Thank you all for your kind comments. I wish I had more time there, but in Spring I may visit the place again. I know I'll be in Sacramento shooting Lupine fields in Spring, and Lake Tahoe is close...
Great work, the sunrise light has been great the last couple of weeks. Where is that particular pier located? Where are you shooting the Luipnes in Sac, at Folsom lake?
