If you ever get a chance to use an anamorphic lens, even as a stills shooter, take it. It's great fun. They can be a bitch to focus, but they're worth it. Even the more affordable 50 and 75 from SIRUI are very good lenses and produce the familiar cinematic look with decently ovular bokeh and bright flare lines.
The new Laowa "nanomorphs" look really interesting, although note that they only cover Super 35 (essentially APS-C), which is still the most widely used format for cine although full frame is gaining ground fast.

They also asked me to update the review with information on this new model, but I will wait until it is available.
Google's Chinese to English translation produced a nearly incomprehensible word salad but did I correctly ascertain that the filter thread has increased from 52mm to 58mm?
The lens is very cheap, i suspect old version, reading problems written here, wathcing pics of cam, i said it is not make using classic double thread helicoid, but a coil railway with teflon rollers.
But i haven't disassebled it to be sure.
I'm wondering if the other lens mount versions of this lens are better? So far I've not come across the same problems with the Z-mount version as others here have mentioned when using the M-mount.
This is interesting from their website. I have not seen a discrepancy with my M lenses between film and digital!
"The lens' macular focus is based on the Leica
M Digital Edition. Players using Leica M film
cameras need to adjust the lens focusing
mechanism according to the instructional
video. Please kept informed!"
