the constrast of that last one seems incredible to me
I look forward to your rpeferences
Thank you! Yes, looking forward to try it and to compare it with CV 50f1 VM. The CV is a great lens, but for daylight and nature photos the strong vignetting and field curvature bothers me, which is why I decided to try the Mr Ding one too.
I should probably have gotten CV 50/1.2 instead of both of these, but when I last year stumbled upon a used (well maintained) CV 50/f1 for almost half the regular price I couldn't resist it. Also I use 50mm for almost 90% of everything I shoot, so I feel it's OK to have several 50mm lenses.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone have any info on upcoming Mr. Ding’s 35/1.8?
The main attraction to me on that would be good bokeh on a compact RF 35…and who knows. Maybe it would play nice on the a7 + M + film M like the 50/1.1

I have seen a few pictures taken with it and at this point I say: don't have too high hopes.
It will be as small as the LLL 35mm 2.0 8E though.

I saw the size/prototype pics on photorumors, and it looked small. But 1.8 is a moderate aperture, and if it follows the signature of the 50/1.1 of having not well corrected LoCal, SA or off center sharpness WO, seems like maybe we could expect a decently smooth rendering…but probably asking too much.
At least the mythical Thypoc 35/1.4 will save us and allow us to finally “see”
Thanks for the info. I missed the article of Bastian on the Leica 50mm completely.
I'm still uncertain between Mr. Ding and TTArtisan; as I'm doing a lot of landscape, TTArtisan may be better suited ...

Very excited for it, hope it matches the look of the 50mm out of focus rendering.
The vigneting is very intense, but also in the f1.1 is very significant. I like the contrast of the vm. The colors of both are very much appart, one bluish, the other yellow. Resolution difference is also very significant. Thank you very much for the comparisons. It the lieu close to your place ?

Thank you. For this kind of subjects I much prefer this lens.
For night shots I prefer CV 50/1.
Here is some comparisons. All taken wide open.
The first ones are taken with CV 50/1 and the second ones with Mr.Ding Noxlux DG 50/1.1.

It's about a ten minutes walk from home. Wonderful area with beautiful nature, mountains, valleys, little lakes, swamps etc.. Also, some wild animals like moose, foxes, hares and lots of birds.
Yes, both lenses have vignetting, but the CV 50 f/1 is worse and its strong field curvature makes the background less smooth.

Excellent overview by Bastian and the conclusion of it all was favoring the CV 1,2/50 as the overall most useful fast 50 of the lot. As far as the 1/50 VM, it's got its quirks and has to be a bear to focus accurately but as mentioned above, the contrast appears greater as well as resolution and the colors seem more true with the VM. Vignetting? Who cares when it can be defeated in post. Kind of adds character, to be honest. The VM's better resolution, higher contrast and vignetting results, to my eye, in a more impactful image.
I have the CV 50/1 and just got this Noxlux.. I have to say its lighter and although not as contrasty it's really well balanced on a M body..
Im off to HK this weekend and will shoot exclusively with this new lens on film and digital M.. I'll be keen to see how it handles an all day and night photowalk. For ref I often apply RNI filters to my digital shots- I'll send over some shots with this lens in a few weeks.. although Im sure all that has been said with this lens has already been said- its a killer price for a small all-purpose lens- good times!
The Christmas week I was shooting a lot with a 50 for the first time in many time. I usually do not feel so tempted by this focal
length. I had with me a Summicron 50 IV. Since the weather was mostly without sun, it did not disturb me so much to use it. Actually I enjoyed it a lot. I was mostly with my tripod. So that I would have even had used an slower lens. After seen again your photographs, I really understood more deeply your complain about the vignetting. In all compact fast lenses seems to be very intense. I am not into fast lenses, so that I was surprised it is so intense. I do not know what software do you utilize, but with the slow Vogitlander LTM 15mm I utilize, which has plenty of vignetting, the flat field conversion of the rawtherapee software is very useful, and ready with a single click. This software is free, so that in case you may feel tempted you may give it a try.
