Just exceptional photography brother!
I recognize(people) a few here from previous posts.
Just so well done.
I am really beginning to admire the "Eisenhower-esque" uniforms. The belt really adds to the uniform as does the color.
Bet uniform allowances went bust!
DOL brother!

Evan, These are wonderful. Love them. What I really think would be very cool is a book honoring these Americans who give so selflessly.
Once you get the series picked and laid out and you are viewing them as a whole I would recommend to get the over all densities to match as well as the tone so they all have a very consistent overall look. The reason I say this is 3,4 and 5 seem a bit lighter than the others. If shown together I think getting the overall feel to match is usally more effective. Keep up the good work. I think beyond being terrific in the visual sense they also have an historic importance. (Is it a historic or an historic?) I never get that right ha ha.
Alan, you're right those three were edited on a laptop on the road and I hadn't noticed just how different the density was until now. I'm going to try to fix it, but since I'm pulling straight from my website it may change the original post.
I can't wait for the book. It will be in my bookcase.
I have always been a huge fan of an overhead soft light modifiers like what you use or a large soft box to use as a hair light and a light to help separate the shoulder and hair or cover from the background. Perfect set up. Slid all that stuff back and still enogh room for the Ferarri....
Wonderful portraits! Very accomplished young people...lawyer, doctors, rangers, SF, physicians assistant, and so forth. You do them justice! I love that the Army has returned to that classic WWII uniform. I can imagine General Marshall wearing that uniform when meeting FDR! The dress blues look great, too. Well done!
Evan, congrats on the FTOW win, well deserved! I think this is like the first time in five years I saw something in your images that could improve it. The first one and the last one, I think the right (their right, our left) cheek needs to be desaturated. Looks too red to me as a result of post work.
Someone didn't check that Cpt's Pathfinder badge. If that was a DA photo man he would have been no go for that pic. It is crooked his Pathfinder Badge.
Ron, thanks for the constructive feedback always appreciated!

Even though the Doc is SF tabbed I am surprised he is wearing a Green Beret since he is no longer serving in an 18 series position.

"Soldiers awarded the Special Forces tab, but not branched Special Forces, will only wear the green beret while assigned to a Special Forces unit or position."
You will notice the unit patch.

Yes I saw the patch. I was in before. Just surprised DA regs allow him to wear the Green Beret now. Docs are non-combatants. 18D for example are considered combatants. Yes I know the reg just surprised that is all.
Wow, let me echo that it was awesome to see all the behind the scenes work that went into taking these pics! I never would have guessed that much went into it, but the results are great.
