Thanks George! I will try it with the 1.4x next time, loved the flower shots you posted.
I am shocked how sharp this lens is for close-up work, and the stabilization combined with the Z9 Ibis is just unreal, better than when using the Z 105 macro.
That is one of the things I was hoping for! I don't use macro much and have the old 200mm which will work in manual mode if I want to do small bugs but this is so good for everything else larger! Bing on the Dragonfly's!!

Just picked up a 100-400z from a local guy along with a 20mm 1.8s and 105 2.8s. I gave the 100-400 a spin this weekend at my sons tournament. It is perfect for baseball when paired with the Z9. CC welcomed and appreciated.
Proud of this boy is an understatement!!!! He is turning out to be quite the little baller. In his first 9u kid pitch tournament over the weekend he was 1 of only 2 kids to not strike out and the only one on the team who hasn’t struck out the entire season!!!! He played 1st base most of the tournament where he had some nice catches and stretches. He also played left field one game and pitched one inning. The inning he pitched he struck out 2 batters, walked one, and another grounded out. Not bad for 4 batters and his first time pitching in a game. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.

To my little surprise, I received the lens that I placed order only about a month ago in Adorama. Backlog must be clearing out. Just a few grabs from the first day. It is not a light lens, but the weight distribution is well balanced that it feels lighter in hand than the 70-200 VRII, the wider throat also contributes to it. So far, very happy with this lens. Now I need to get a tripod foot and filters.

Some burrowing owls. Check out the eyes on the one owl. I have seen photos of them with these eyes before but this is the first time I have photographed them personally. CC welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

The more I have used this lens the more I like it. My only problem is it is a little too slow once the shadows and low light comes. Still a good and versatile lens. Here are images from a recent baseball game and some wildlife photos.

Anyone pairing this lens with a z 6 ii for sports/action? What are your experiences?
My son is a senior and on his last year of varsity soccer; games are early evening, when there's still plenty of sun here (at least for the first 2/3rds of the season). Considering this to help document the season.
