Well, thought it might be worth having a dedicated image thread for this lens. There are others which have a mixture of discussion and samples, hopefully this one will be more dedicated to images.

A few wide open (f/2.8) test shots taken, hand-held, around the house or through a window upon receipt of the lens. I was going to wait for the Sony 24-70 GM II, but this will work just fine for my hobbyist needs. I'm happy, so far.

Sorry these are large, if they are annoying, let me know and I'll post smaller ones. Thought they might be more helpful for assessing the lens. All taken with my a7R III and Tamron 28-75mm Di III VXD G2. No distortion or vignetting correction applied. On a brisk walk with my wife, most are stopped down or wide open, not much in between.

Stumbled on this thread because I am considering the new G2. Scrolling through the images doing some pixel peepling... Hey wait a sec. I recognize that dome! I grew up in Hershey. We're neighbors

This is extremely tempting lens. I had the original DSLR version for Canon and loved it. Alas, one humid summer it got infected with fungus.
I'd love to see a head-to-head with the Canon 24-70L II, 24-70 GM and Sigma 28-75 f/2.8 just to compare bokeh and max magnification. It seems like it's perfectly sharp wide-open.
He did some comparison shots between the Tamron and the Canon 24-70L II, only for sharpness though I believe. Maybe he can do some tests if he still has both lenses.

Happy day when your new A7RIV and Tamron 28-75mm G2 arrive on the same Fedex truck. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out take some pictures. Only had time for a couple of shots today. With very limited use today I am impressed. Love the general rendering.

Nice! I was never really interested in a 24, 28-70 zoom but the rendering has me interested
