I have Techart TZG-01 adapter and sadly it does not work with the Z9 yet. I purchased the Megadap Leica M to Nikon Z with a few of the additional adapter to use manual focus Nikkor lenses and it works great.
I hope Techart updates the firmware for the TZG-01 soon. I've tried to email but haven't heard back.

Has anyone else tried these adapters? trying to decide between this vs using a manual focus adapter. In addition I’m concerned about the following disclaimer on the website:
Disclaimer:
1) Contax G lenses are mostly old on the market with different conditions. There is a chance that the lens gets worn being driven by the powerful TZG-01 motor. Use the adapter with consideration of this point.
2) Due to the focusing mechanism difference, the AF speed of this setup is still much different from using native Z-mount lenses.

I have been using the TZG adapter since it came out and absolutely love it!! Don’t worry about the disclaimer wording on wear and focussing - more a call-out to be aware of.
The adaptive experience, ease of focusing in low light and the Exif data have made this my only kit now(I use a 16, 21,28, 45 & 90 on the z6 with this adapter).

Thanks I have the full set as well and look forward to trying these. I imagine that if this adapter doesn’t work on the Z9 it probably won’t work on the Z8.

Don’t see the z8 or z9 listed on the Techartpro site as compatible so probably won’t work. apatel wrote:

If the manual focus knob worked even if AF doesn't I'd be quite a bit ahead but it doesn't seem to work either.
Oh well, took a chance. Hopefully it works sooner rather than later.
I just wanted the opportunity to "play" with my Contax G lenses.
Did you ever get it to work? I just got mine and it worked for a bit on the ZF but once it grab focus it stops working and I have to turn it off and on again

Never tried. Just got the Urth manual focus adapter. The Leica M AF adapter from Techart works on z8 and Zf.

The Techart site confirms the ZF is compatible. I also have a user in Japan confirm the ZF is fully compatible with the TZG unlike the Z8 or Z9. Did you try updating the firmware?

No, but I also haven’t messed with it since I took a chance with it over a year ago.

I finally got a Nikon ZF few days ago and realised the TZG-01 does not work. After a firmware update on the ZF(1.2) and a firmware update on the TZG(1.3), the errors with shutter freeze are all gone but the adapter still does not focus or seem to work. Hopefully it works with next TZG firmware update?
Interestingly the 1.3 firmware update on the TZG mentions also the Z9 so wonder if you were ably to update the adapter and get it working on the Z9 perhaps?
