The grand views at the national parks are always fun, but what is actually more rewarding for me is hiking along dirt roads and trails in a quiet deciduous forest scouting for a special intimate scene, and on this particular spring day in Ohio I was blessed to come across it. The dogwood and redbud blooming together with the expressive tree branches really spoke to my heart. Perhaps some of you know what I mean about the beauty of these quieter out-of-the-way places that don't have a 'Grand Canyon' view but are every bit as meaningful to you.

Lovely photo. I really enjoy this type of photography. Doesn't get the views and comments of epic mountains and waterfalls but can be very beautiful anyway. The colours in this one are stunning.

Nice work on these, Ross. Good Redbud photos are surprisingly hard to do, IMO. Yes, much under appreciated.

Love the way the colors fade to pastel at the top and how they look against the green. Really nice image!

Thanks to each of you for your positive feedback, I really appreciate it! I'm glad there are others who resonate with this kind of beauty. I lived almost all my life in the West with grandeur everywhere and after moving to Ohio it was a transition in learning to seek out and savor the quieter beauty, and now I have fallen hard in love with these midwest forests.

Gorgeous capture, could not agree with you more, expressive photography is much more rewarding, than weather chasing.
Alister Benn has few very good videos on this topic, especially influential for me were his conversations with: Guy Tal, Charlie Cramer, William Neill and Bruce Percy...

Thank you! I'll check out those interviews, they sound great. I took a printing workshop from Charlie, really admire his vision.
