I was wondering about the aspect of the flares that can be achieved with that lens, I looked at this topic and couldn't find samples of it. I wish it flared like I saw the voigtlander 35mm 1.4 II can.
If someone has some exemples of it, I’m curious.

I will search for ghosting flare in my image samples, although I believe it is uncommon even though the lens is only available in single coating.

Thank you! Those new single coating are more efficient than I would like them to be. I have a hard time making the Ultron 75mm flare but when it does, I quite like it. I wish they brought back their old version of single coating like those of the 35 and 40mm.

Indeed 'single coating' but improved coating compared to vintage lenses.
I had so much fun with the LLL Panchro and since I like it quite a bit after having tested a bunch of 50mm, I felt like trying the Heliar, couldn’t resist when I found one.
I’m still gauging the Panchro so my assessment between the two is still flimsy.
My initial impression is that I might like the Panchro more but the Heliar is interesting and they might complement each other for someone fond of these renderings.
It’s too fresh to be clear minded about them so here is my first shooting session with the Heliar.
(Can’t manage to make all these lenses flare, give me some bad single coating please).
More testing of the Heliar, saying that it’s a dual lens is an understatement, it performs quite nicely and more like a standard lens from 2.8 to 4 and retaining it seems some part of its character.
More testing, the Heliar is growing on me, most shots were at f4, a decent performer at these values and it might keep more of its character at these apertures than the Panchro that is still however my favorite.
Giving the Heliar some love. The more I use the lens the more I like it, it’s not as soft as I thought it would be, it’s quite an interesting piece of glass. These shots are similar to those I took with the LLL Panchro and I can spot more easily the particularities of each lens.
I took the Heliar with me for a short walk, there is an heat wave these days. The Heliar is a lens that I was a bit doubtful about since I purchased it, I wanted to like it but failed short to really do so each time I experimented with it, but I begin to like it to the point of considering it now a keeper.
It might be of interest for some, I was curious about it but the Heliar can flare and in all sort of ways and colors. Which I’m glad it does. In some rare scenarios I could have a blueish cast similar to the Panchro but that was very elusive.
When the lens was announced I was quite excited by the prospect of a modern lens made to replicate some traits of some older design glass(I was not aware of Ms-Optics at the time and now that I know, I’m a bit saddened by the difficulty to purchase some) but the few photos I found at the time and most were the ones put by Voigtlander on the website did disappoint me to the point where I felt hesitant up until far later.
The fact is, now that I own one, I find the output quite different from the samples I saw, I wonder if there has been some changes or just my eyes are not well trained enough to spot such differences.
The samples look more like what I saw from the anniversary Heliar 50mm f2 somehow.(If there is indeed a difference in rendering between the two)
It’s hard to come by with photos taken with this lens, which is odd since it’s quite a success in Asia as far as I know. The Panchro and the samples I found here from Fred and Juha convinced me to try it for myself.
