Again, 4K is no big deal, the iPhone X had 4K and 4K60, that was a lifetime ago, so if Sony come with 4K24/25/30p it's going to be a huge let down, no one cares about it being 10bit or whatever, it's all 265 compressed stiff anyway, anyone serious is shooting raw or at the very least some flavour of ProRes.
For video shooters 4k 24/30/60p 10 bit 422 > 8-bit 6k, easily. It’s not even close. The a7sIII is such a big step up from the a7III’s 8-bit. I do think Sony is protecting the a7sIII by not offering 6k and I agree it should have gotten a stacked 24mp sensor and specs in line with the S1h instead of staying 12 mp, I’ll still take better 4k any day. I’m replacing my a7III as soon as I can get one. 👍

The most important bit of math is that a 50% increase in pixel count is necessary to get over the 20% linear resolution threshold for a resolution gain to be visible to the typical eye.
That margin is just over 32MP for most of the 24MP sensors.
Note this is why only Canon really did 30MP, it rode that threshold for their 20MP cameras, while everybody else was making 24MP stuff.

SAR posting a few new leaked images and a couple specs:
1) Exposure compensation dial now reprogrammable
2) The record button is on the front of the compensation dial
3) Separate dial for video still and S&Q mode
4) One of the slots takes SD cards only and the other one takes CFexpress Type A and SD cards.

If true:
1) cool
2) probably cool
3) waste of a dial IMO (I like drive mode better)
4) Poop, but not super poop, just a little poop, although I doubt I'd use my cfexpress cards in this camera, I'd still like the option of complete choice. That said, not a pro camera, save a few bucks,...etc
Watched the video and so far it looks good. No mention of the EVF or rear screen resolutions. If they are improved, as well as the jpeg engine (similar to A1) then I'm selling A1 and getting this.
