This was the most challenging subject for me to get in flight.
Number one he is fast and number two, its almost always a short flight path from perch to perch.

Let me tell you guys....I've shot these Pymgy Owls at this location multiple times....I've tried to get them in flight with all sorts of gear like 1DXII, D500, D850, A9, A9II and R5. IME they have no "tell" as to when they will fly. They also fly very short distances in a split second. To get these flight sequences (and what looks like more than one different sequence) is amazing to me. It takes some serious skill and a competent camera. Pius has always had the skill...finally he has a competent camera. I haven't yet tried for this owl with the A1...I will certainly be looking to try myself very soon
