Dunno if has been reported yet, but Matt looks at how aperture changes....

Looks like f/2 doesn't last long, but f/2.2 goes for a bit longer:

f/2 - 35-38mm
f/2.2 - 38-60mm
f/2.5 - 60-83mm
f/2.8 - 83-150mm

Still, pretty good all things considered.

This was posted like few posts above yours (video). As for focal range / F-stop this been known for weeks (Tamron jp released it) now and posted several or more times already.

It's still a good combination.

Yeah I never saw it written out, so thought I'd save people who are unable watch videos the trouble and report Matt's findings

I never expected it to remain f/2 for very long, so this is a pretty solid performance. Stays at f/2.2 longer than I would have thought. so that's a bonus. I think if you are the person this lens works for, it's shaping up to work very well indeed.

This video includes a comparison shot with the GM 100-400 @150mm

The key question will be if it was worth to go for the f2 function at 35-38mm with the high weight disadvantage or if a lighter f 2.8 35-150mm lens would have been practically more useful...

But it's not only F2 at 35-38mm. It's also F2.2 up to 60mm. That's still 2/3 stop brighter than your average 24-70/2.8.

Here in Poland, we expect first, small batch right around the end of October; with bigger stock follow up in November. However things can change, lately "everything" is delayed so only time will tell.

I'd go out on a limb and say that the majority of the weight is caused by the long end and the weight difference between 35mm f/2 and 35mm f/2.8 would have been negligible.

It isn't unusual in constant aperture zooms that the glass is already there for a larger aperture at the wide end, but that the aperture blades are what limit the wider end to the constant aperture.

SonyAlpha Rumors says this is the world's fastest full-frame lens:

Now I feel like such a sucker, for buying all those f1.4 lenses and thinking they were fast...

I‘m still not sure how to grade the quality of the bokeh. I hope to see some real reviews soon.

The guy there is braindead. He regularly writes assinine titles, doesn't bother to spell check, and the site is littered with errors. He takes no pride in his site and it is blatantly about his cut from affiliate links and overloads the site with ads and fake sales.

Are you talking about "the guy" at Sony Alpha Rumours?

If so, I'd say you are taking cheap shots. Hope your photographic shots are classier.

I can accept the spelling and grammatical errors since English is not his first language, but he's definitely in the "classless click-baiter" category.

Is the headline just missing the word "Zoom"?

I am not sure is there a faster aperture Zoom?

Doesn't Sigma make (made?) a 24-35mm f/2? Different range, but still an f/2 zoom which is unusual.

Regardless of that other site, I'm somewhat interested in this over a 70-200 as a portrait lens. I think I'd use the wide end more than the long end for that purpose. I've missed a few Tamron 70-180's on the Buy and Sell, so maybe I'll see how this looks.

The Sigma 24-35mm f2 and the Canon RF 24-70mm f2 zooms are both faster.

His headline is missing the words "zoom", "Tamron" and "Sony".

Yes, it appears Sigma does make a 24-35mm f2 zoom lens.

It looks Like SAR took this headline from Tamron's website and left out the accompanying foot note. Sloppy, but probably not intentionally not malicious.

From Tamron website:
The world's first (1) F2 all-in-one full-frame mirrorless travel zoom lens

Footnote:
1 Among fast-aperture interchangeable zoom lenses for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras (As of August, 2021: TAMRON)

What’s the use of comparing a 24-35mm lens to a 35-150mm?
