Still pretty excited about this lens, but damn that is a pretty extreme amount of ghosting and sun flare in that sample shot in the video. Don’t think I would want to use this for landscape sunset/sunrise shots. Even the Sigma 24-70DN handles flare better. Obviously hard to design a zoom with this range that wouldn’t have a lot of flare and ghosting, but still unfortunate. It’ll be interesting to see how the 70-200GMII handles flare and ghosting by comparison.

For the first time (as far as I can see) in their series the show some „real world“ pictures as well
I don't understand Japanese but some guy definitely said the long line of ghosting looks like AT Field in the anime Evangelion😂
It seems that the weak points of this lens are strong swirly bokeh in some specific scenes and flare resistance. I guess it's hard to make perfect lens of this spec.

Re the video:
He seems surprised by the heavy weight.
He seems quizzical about the tight moving focusing ring although perhaps that's just his sample.
The air being sucked in would be a concern.. well.. if you went from 35 to 150 often.. I would think this would draw in a ton of dust. Maybe it's just the copy he is using.
Otherwise... the lens in this limited "1st look"... appears to be very nice. I'm looking forward to his review.

Yes, zoom ring . Thanks for correction.

Zoom ring, this lens has reversed positions compared to..all the other Tamron FE zooms perhaps? Certainly the 28-75 and looked like the 70-180.

I’ve sampled three of the 70-180s. Some do have tighter zoom rings than others and the sound made while zooming can vary slightly. Yet none were as tight as he seems to experience.
I’m not worried about that although you would think they would check their review lenses carefully.
