The far mountain stands at 6400m, the pass is ~5400m. It looks easy for aspiring trekkers, but every so often it's not. In 2014, 43 died in a snowstorm including from Canada, Poland, Israel, Slovakia, India, Vietnam, and Japan, alongside local Nepali guides, porters, cooks, and yak herders. Many victims froze or succumbed to hypothermia, altitude sickness, or avalanches. (D200, 35-70/2.8).
