The af-s 24-120 f/4 seldom gets much respect especially at 120mm. I spent close to an hr last night dialing in the close focus on my old D750. (not bad)

Having sold my Nikon D7100 3 years ago and moved to a Z6 with some F and Z lenses, I have just ordered a D3s.
This was my dream camera at the time and I remember how good the initial D3 photos looked when it was released. Now the price is very affordable in comparison to anything new and I'm looking forward to those sweet pro body ergonomics. I had a D2H around 18 years ago and I just loved the feel in my hands, but not the images it made.
Actually had one delivered the other day but it was faulty so it went back and am waiting on a different one to arrive now.
I need to really learn the AF system on it as I never thought I got the best out of my previous DSLRs.
The lower resolution and different way of working is really appealing.

I still have that large D3 announcement poster That camera was groundbreaking at the time and was a great body. I shot with it for maybe three years or so.
I went out with my D200 and it was the first time going out with a DSLR in years. To say it slows down the process is an understatement, but that's not a bad thing and it was very enjoyable.
