I drooled over this lens for years as I pondered shifting what I shot more towards portraits. I found this great copy already converted to Sony E-mount. The results from the lens are sublime in the portrait range, with dramatic contrast and center sharpness and elaborate bokeh that is otherworldly.
I am selling this one because, alas, I am not a portrait shooter and don't have the time to invest to improve my skills there. This lens really belongs on the camera of someone who is a people shooter and wants to separate their work from others. Examples at the bottom from *this actual lens* by a real portrait shooter (not me).
This lens is fully manual, focus and aperture control. All actions move smoothly, and the lens elements are clean. The aperture blades are free of oil. There is minor dust inside, as it was CLA'ed about two years ago. While the glass and blades are great, the body shows signs of wear, with some scuffs around the rim of the front and a couple of exterior marks on the front (all shown in the images below). Minor barrel scuffs elsewhere. I am including multiple images below from around the lens to show flaws etc., but I reiterate that the glass is stellar.
