I currently own the Magpul MS4 for my Nikon D850 with the RRS Modular L-Bracket. Had I known (had it been released then?) of the SP-01, I might have given it a look considering the SP-01 is $39 bucks vs. the Magpul's $59 bucks. That said, I'm extremely happy with my Magpul MS4 strap.
Thoughts? Here's a picture of the Leofoto SP-01 and the Magpul MS4...

as they are going after just about everyone else they can "emulate". its so much easier when someone else does the hard work of design.
While that may be true, let's not pretend they are the only ones doing it. Everywhere you look there's a knock off of something. Even well known technology companies have been successfully sued for infringement
Anyway Leofoto can can claim being different from Magpul in the QD design. And it's not like Magpul has a lock on strap design. That said, I like the Magpul's simpler less pieces to brake design

except of the tip diameter it is essentially a PMG design on the leofoto.
Not sure what you mean, but Is there a patent on "tip diameter"?
Anyway, as you know, but for others... I do have the Magpul; though I'm not going to lie and say I may not have gone Leofoto had I seem their offering... especially being a third less the price - $39 vs. $59.
That said, again, NO complaints with my Magpul. You got lucky on that suggestion
its a simple situation. the design may or may not be patented and that is irrelevant. they, in this case, actually improved on the PMG usability/design.
the Magpul also has a the slider assembly which is their design too. i have a feeling they would defend their designs if they hold a patent
as to getting lucky, not so much. i buy on design, execution and functionality. that price differential is minimal. if i can purchase local i do.
I immediately thought of the PMG SS2 plug upon looking at the Leofoto strap image. It looks the same except for the tip. Comparing the two above, Leofoto's has the look of a camera strap proper whereas the Magpul has the look of its originally intended design, i.e., rifle strap that is repurposed as camera strap.
Personally, I like the PMG SS2 plug design, so I'm liking the look of the Leofoto's. I'll probably get one.

everything is to taste. i actually prefer the ALG design.
Why ae you so defensive and uptight? Good grief relax man
And BTW, even local, the Magpul price is still $59 bucks. I know because I found it at a couple of places in my area after purchasing it online (wasn't available at first locally). Even at the local base Exchange, the price is 59 bucks.
I was watching this combo for $70. The seller sent me an offer for $60 for both strap & clamp, so I took it. All of my attachments are currently thru AS clamps, but I'm certainly willing to broaden my horizons. I'll soon see how good Leofoto's manufacturing abilities are. If they are as good as I hope, I may replace my Manfrotto 410 geared head with their G4 head. It looks very promising.
That said, I wouldn't mind giving it a try if the price was a little cheaper. The other issue I have with that strap is the attached leg being spread apart. Yeah, you could tighten the leg but that's could be a constant battle. I question the design there.

the clamp is a RRS design. i have one of those for about 4 years for non QD plates.
i get the gear a choose when i need it. its a tool. nothing more nothing less. nothing to defend here. the only thing for me is the devils in the details. and i do details.
